A hand up not a hand out
Stephen Kulawiak is the General Manager of Wake County for Nurse Care of North Carolina; a premium health care services company, providing in-home care and medical staffing needs to the central North Carolina community. He joined the Executive Committee of Carolina Veterans Support Group in March 2017.
Stephen began his career in the United States Marine Corps Reserve as an infantryman and received his commission as an active duty logistics officer in 2005. Stephen is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he served as an infantryman in 2003 and motor transport platoon commander in 2007. Stephen was medically retired from active duty military service at the rank of captain and has personal experience navigating the Veterans Affairs system.
Stephen is a graduate of Norwich University (’05) and received his MA in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University (’12).
Richard H. Lane is currently a professional with McGladrey LLP and is the owner of Lane Financial Services in Raleigh, North Carolina. Richard specializes in internal audit and individual income tax consulting. He has led numerous IIA Quality Assessments and performed bank internal audit co-sourcing at various local institutions.
Previously, Richard was the General Auditor for First Citizens Bank, an Audit Director for the Bank of America (NCNB) and General Auditor for the Bank of North Carolina. He has been a part of audit management at the manager, director and chief audit executive level for 25 years. He established an audit-customer focused risk based approach to performing audits and specialized in operational and financial services industry.
Richard received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Administration from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. He is a member of the Raleigh-Durham chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He is a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Financial Services Auditor, a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Bank Auditor, and A Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Faith is an accomplished Healthcare Manager with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Paired with Military Medical Leadership, Congressional Liaisons and Senior Leaders of national non-profit organizations, Veteran Service Organizations and governmental agencies on initiatives for enhancing quality of health care while assisting service members and their families with transitional clinical care and benefits management.
Executive Officer Army Wounded Warrior Program
Directed the activities of 135 staff members, throughout the country, managed annual budget and funding of staff training programs. Provided administration/innovation of organizational procedures including research and analysis of available service resources, staff training and development and budget creation and management. Managed key execution projects and core team members as the subject matter expert to improve transitional care needs by aligning program business practices with industry standards and research findings into operational practice standards. Routinely applied awareness in Army medical management and in medical case management operations related to non-clinical care management in order to educate, facilitate, and assist nationally dispersed staff with structuring comprehensive treatment plans for severely wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers and Veterans.
